Owner & Chef, "Batter Up Bakery". In her own words; "The idea for Batter Up Bakery began over twelve years ago. A lawyer by training, I was now at home with small children. While the kids napped and played, I baked (and baked, and baked, and baked). In addition to baking for my family, I baked for my children's classmates and their teachers, for my husband's students (all 100 of them, several times a year) and colleagues, for friends, and for school, church and community events. I thought continuously about baking, took baking classes, and devoured every sweet-related cookbook and recipe I could find. My cookies are not mass produced. They are made in small batches and baked in regular ovens. They are watched carefully and taken out of the oven at just the right time to ensure that special mix of slightly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. After cooling, they are hand packaged carefully and elegantly."
